Foundation Founder

The Rev. Dr. Laticia Hill Godette is a faithful servant of God and ordained Elder in the A.M.E. Zion Church.  She is the happy wife of Mr. Dante Godette and they have been together for 28 years.  They are the proud parents of three intelligent, beautiful, extraordinary girls—Adina (24), Faith (15) and Jordan Christina (12).  Dr. Godette is a spirit-led and energetic Pastor and an Adjunct Professor at Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC.  She also serves in the NC Annual Conference as the Chair of the Appeals Committee; Conference Studies Chair; and as Assistant Chief of Protocol as Marshall to Missionary Supervisor Sheila Monroe and Administrative Assistant Nadine Greene.

On June 11, 2016, Dr. Godette made history when Bishop W. Darin Moore appointed her as the Pastor of York Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenville, NC.  She is the first woman Pastor ever appointed to any “first” church in the North Carolina Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Zion Church.  In just one year, this dynamic servant has led York Memorial with a spirit of excellence.  Over 70 new members joined the church; over 40 souls saved; the church is debt free; and the spiritual life of the church is healthy.  The members are on fire and there is a fresh anointing flowing.  God is using Dr. Godette and miracles are being manifested.  Members have been healed from cancer, delivered from drugs and brought back to life after the doctors gave up.  Dr. Godette just believes GOD!!!

Dr. Godette is a trail blazer.  In 2017, she founded Laticia Hill Godette Ministries.  Her non-profit has provided over $10,000 to college students to help pay for tuition, books, food, housing and cars.  They help ex-offenders coming out of prison find housing, jobs, transportation, and appropriate education.  Dr. Godette is a visionary and she is in the process of founding a school in order to teach children who they really are as kings and queens so their minds will be liberated!  GOD is also using Dr. Godette to start a homeless shelter in the fellowship hall of York Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church so they can continue to meet the needs in the community and be the church instead of just going to church.  Dr. Godette also allowed a local Narcotics Anonymous/Alcohol Anonymous group to meet at church every day.  Dr. Godette is an encouraging force and she pours into others in order to help propel others to their destiny.  Since October 2017, Dr. Godette has ministered “every” day on her 7 AM prayer line and people have been saved, delivered, and set free.  Dr. Godette has a holistic approach to ministry and she wants people to win in every area of their lives.  For example, she started a business line on Saturdays where she taught people how to start their own businesses and non-profit organizations.  Through her business line, four nonprofits were birthed and new businesses were created.  Dr. Godette recognizes that she is just a willing vessel being used by God and her testimony remains, “TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!”

Dr. Godette was born in Asbury Park, NJ.  She moved to Havelock, NC at the age of nine and grew up in the Adams Creek Community where her grandparents, the late Joseph and Mable Hill, raised her in the church.  She graduated with honors from Havelock High in 1997 and became the first person in her family to go to college. She graduated with distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health in 2001.  She earned a Juris Doctorate from UNC Chapel Hill School of Law in 2004.  She also graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary in 2014.  Dr. Godette sacrifices and does not make excuses.  She drove 4 hours to Salisbury every Friday and 4 hours back home every Saturday for 3.5 years in order to earn her M.Div.  The faculty and staff at Hood Theological Seminary awarded Dr. Godette the Faculty Award.  This award is given to the graduating senior who has demonstrated academic excellence and has made the most outstanding contribution to the life of the seminary.

Dr. Godette is an overcomer!  She testifies that GOD took nothing and made something!  According to statistics, she wasn’t supposed to make it, BUT GOD!  She grew up very poor with parents who battled drug addictions and a father who was in prison, BUT GOD!  She was diagnosed with cancer, but she survived by the healing power of GOD!  She battled depression and overcame situations that would have taken other people out, BUT GOD!  You see the glory, but you don’t know Dr. Godette’s whole story! Dr. Godette made it by the grace of GOD!
